Sony opens Pinewood IP test and training centre
Sony has added an area for IP interoperability testing and launched a new IP training course at its Digital Motion Picture Centre Europe (DMPCE) at Pinewood Studios.
Other equipment manufacturers will be able to use the test centre to make sure their kit works as part of Sony’s IP Live offering.
Sony Professional Europe Strategic Marketing Manager Norbert Paquet said: “To date, standards and alliances have focused only on a few of the challenges of IP Live production. The IP Live Studio is therefore an opportunity for our customers to test and operate a complete IP workflow, and experience the exciting interoperability on offer.”
The acquisition system features Sony’s HDC-43004K/HD live system camera and BPU-4500 baseband processor, working with NXLK-IP40F SDI to IP converter boards. It will demonstrate 4K and HD acquisition over IP, video switching over IP, real-time graphics over IP, interoperability with Sony’s Networked Media Interface and dynamic routing.
Manufacturers contributing interoperable kit include Cisco, Evertz, EVS, Imagine Communications, Juniper Networks,Tektronix and TSL.
The training course will focus on how to build, operate and maintain IP-based systems for live production. The first course will take place in two weeks
