Prosecutors in Brazil have accused OBS of breaking employment laws during the Olympic Games, according to a report by Reuters.

It is claimed that OBS employees were made to work irregular hours and for more than 10 hours a day during the Olympics and Paralympics.

It is not yet clear if any UK suppliers to OBS have been affected by the court order, which was due to be enforced after the closing ceremony of the Paralympics on Sunday to avoid scuppering coverage of the event.

OBS is an arm of the International Olympic Committee. It was established in 2001 to serve as the host broadcaster for all Olympic Games and Winter Games.

The IOC did not immediately respond to a request to comment.

Update: A spokesman for OBS said: “We have no further comments as long as there are ongoing legal hearings.”
