The future of public broadcasters lie in embracing the digital era and the digital youth if they want to sustain their businesses going forward.
It goes without saying that is the audience we must adapt to serve. The manner in which they consume content and media is different from the previous generation. We must fill this space and fill it with relevant content.
The Southern Africa Broadcasting Association-SABA, being the flagship association for public broadcasters in SADC region, and the Public Media Alliance will host the 4th Africa and Digitalization conference to interrogate the digital present, how to engage the digital audience, with a look at platforms such as OTT, VOD, and PAY TV.

The events provide a unique opportunity for media leaders from SAC, the African continent comprising senior government personnel, policy-makers, communication’s regulators, public broadcasters, technical solutions providers, advertising executives, media CEO’s and journalists from 14 SADC member states – to network, exchange knowledge, and ideas about strengthening their businesses in the evolving industry.
This years’ conference and Annual General Meeting of SABA will consist out of 2-days of conferencing under the theme: Embracing Multimedia Broadcasting-Future-proofing public broadcasters”, a Business Leadership Dinner and an Exhibition.
Radio Mozambique and TV Mozambique are the national public broadcasters in the country of Mozambique, tasked with the responsibility of public service media with the biggest footprint to provide information to the public, as well as educational material and entertainment. Radio Mozambique and TV Mozambique are Board Members on the Board of SABA that provides strategic leadership to the organization.
The Southern African Broadcasting Association(SABA) exists to provide leadership for public broadcasters in the areas of digital migration, capacity building and training, creation and exchange of radio, television and online content as well as the empowerment of women in and through the media.
SABA was launched in 1993 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization to promote quality broadcasting by enhancing professionalism and the credibility of public service broadcasting among the 14 SADC countries.

Mozambique is a southern African nation whose long Indian Ocean coastline is dotted with popular beaches like Tofo, as well as offshore marine parks. In the Quirimbas Archipelago, a 250km stretch of coral islands, mangrove-covered Ibo Island has colonial-era ruins surviving from a period of Portuguese rule. The Bazaruto Archipelago farther south has reefs which protect rare marine life including dugongs.

2. Visa – Most of SADC countries are exempted of visa to enter Mozambique for other countries are recommended to apply for entry visas at the Mozambican Embassies or High commissions on the countries of Origins.
